(More customer reviews)This RUBBERMAID shed which was not cheap for it small size, held up for EXACTLY, 1 year and 3 months. The doors seems a bit warped, and actually did measure, about 1/8" warp, in the mid-panel on one door. While the poorly designed door assembly will fit into place at installation, the design mechanism to HOLD them in place, is far too flimsy for the weight of the doors to be maintained for any long period of time. So, if a wind in excess of 20mph comes along, be careful. The design is terrible, both doors, went flying down our driveway on winter day with a 20-25mph, moderate wind gust, definitely, NOT SEVERE! These Rubbermaid doors, never stayed on after that, the nipples that held them in placed, were damaged by scraping on cement. We had to scrap the entire shed.
If you call Rubbermaid's Customer Service, don't be surprised when their people give you a hard time, don't give you much in the way of troubleshooting and tell you: "YOU MUST HAVE INSTALLED SOMETHING WRONG" or "IT STATES ON THE PACKING BOX, DISASSEMBLE THE UNIT IN HIGH WINDS." After spending the time to read the instructions assemble the unit, load it up with garden tools etc., how many people want to take it down each time a 20 mph breeze comes along? Their Customer Service people were terrible and make no attempt at all, to troubleshoot, and didn't care at all, our expensive garden equipment was exposed to the elements and to theft. There's nothing written, about "high winds" on the actual instructions, but they'll tell you, it's on the BOX and you should have noted that. And, exactly what is a high wind, 25mph? They sure don't say. Be persistent, they won't send you replacement doors even if they are defective, but they'll send you a lot of other components that won't work 2 months later later. You'll have a hard time convincing them, but keep calling, you might get the one person who isn't arrogant and condescending to help you...there really is only one person there who tried to help; we talked to about 4.
We had a lot of confidence in Rubbermaid before this shed incident, but now would never even consider any of their products agains for outdoor storage. By the way, we're not in a very windy area, we're in the middle of Pennsylvania! So, can you imagine how many times anyone who lives in a Tornado or Hurricane zone, would have to disassemble their unit?
Get a shed that's made of wood or metal!
