(More customer reviews)I purchased this item and received it yesterday (June 3rd, 2010). To clear up any inquiry, the can opener I received (Amco Swing-A-Way 407WH) is NOT made in the USA: it has no stamp indicating origin on the can opener (the old ones said Made in USA), and the package states "Made in China." So if you are looking for an authentic Swing-A-Way can opener made in America like I was, try somewhere else because Amco has sold this model overseas.
BTW I compared it to our existing Swing-A-Way, they are very similar in weight and feel, with the action between the gears on the China model being a bit looser/less precise than the old one. Can't say how it will hold up, but the quiet betrayal is disappointing.
