(More customer reviews)I am EXTREMELY arachnophobic. If the spider is larger than the tip of my pinky or if it has long legs, I can't kill it. I'm terrified that it will somehow climb up on my shoe or whatever implement I'm trying to kill it with and crawl on ME. I don't mind the daddy long legs type unless they're big or dark in color - for me, the worst are the jumping spider and wolf spider. I'm also paranoid of brown recluses because there are a lot of them in my region.
So, I bought this spray as a way to be able to kill a spider from a safe distance. I've used several other well-known brands with mixed results. Most of them, you have to spray them with half the can before they curl up and die. So far, this is the best one I've used. It will kill smaller spiders with one direct shot. Make sure you're wearing shoes though - it sometimes takes a couple minutes to work on more robust, less spindly legged spiders. They will run away and then curl up and die halfway up the wall or across the floor. For bigger spiders, you may have to hit them with the spray a few more times. Like I said - make sure to wear shoes. Don't stand right beneath a spider on the ceiling either - it most likely will fall on you (ew!).
The best thing about this spray is that it leaves a residue behind that repels and kills spiders and other pests - not for a really long time, but long enough. It's also not harmful to children or pets after it dries - usually about an hour. For preventative purposes, I would spray this in cracks, crevices, air vents, under sinks, and behind toilets. Also make sure you clean up cobwebs often - disturbing webs often prevents more spiders. That's what I was told by a professional, anyway. If I owned my own home, I'd be outside filling in cracks and crevices with foam or caulk as well.
I highly recommend this as a fast and easy way to kill and prevent spiders!
