(More customer reviews)It's huge... that's my fault for not paying attention to the dimensions. It's more equipped to hold a dvd player than a speaker. I have a 55" television and this shelf still looks way too big.
It doesn't fit well despite having multiple attachments for varying size televisions. For my projection TV the short support legs were too short and the long support legs were too long. Supposedly you can fine tune the length of the legs by painstakingly threading out little screws and nuts but they weren't adjustable enough to make it work. So the shelf sits slightly angled. It was designed to rest flat and the poor fit makes it look even more ungainly on top of the TV.
Now the worst part. It's held onto the front of the television by the two metal 'fangs' on the front. I saw this in the picture and had just hoped the 'fangs' were tiny enough to go unnoticed or blend in with the frame of the TV. I also expected that since I ordered black, the 'fangs' would blend in with the frame of my TV. No such luck. The 'fangs' are too big. So big in fact that they drop down below the frame of my TV and come into the screen which is very distracting. To compound this, even though I ordered the black model, it came with bright silver 'fangs'. WHY WOULD YOU WANT BRIGHT REFLECTIVE METAL RODS HANGING DOWN IN FRONT OF YOUR TELEVISION SCREEN?? It's super distracting. I wrapped them with black electrical tape and that helped a little.
This will only be temporary. Modern big screen TV's are so pretty, it's a shame to spoil their clean lines with this huge ugly shelf. I'll have to find a center channel shelf that someone has put some design thought into, then this one is going in the trash.
Aside from the poor design, the construction quality is good and it's huge size makes it very solid. That's the only good thing I can think of.
